HERETIC

The HEmostatic REsuscitation and Trauma Induced Coagulopathy (HERETIC) Symposium was introduced last year by The University of Pittsburgh’s Center for Military Medicine Research and The Trauma and Transfusion Medicine Research Center (TTMRC), along with the McGowan Institute for Regenerative Medicine and in collaboration with the THOR Network. The goal of HERETIC is to bring together a rich mix of researchers, providers, the Department of Defense, and private and public research program managers to disseminate and discuss the most up-to-date research and practices in the field of hemostatic resuscitation and trauma induced coagulopathy. Design for Implementation: Trauma Research and Clinical Guidance Conference Series (DFI)

Outside of well-funded, urban trauma centers, too many critically injured patients die needlessly or suffer excessive disability following delayed or insufficient care. Effective development and equitable and rapid dissemination of clinical practice guidelines is needed to help close the performance gaps between the trauma center haves and have-nots. The AHRQ-funded Design for Implementation: Trauma Research and Clinical Guidance Conference Series (DFI) aims to solve this problem by redesigning how the trauma community develops and disseminates trauma clinical guidance in the United States. The first meeting will convene at the Chicago headquarters of the American College of Surgeons on February 21-22, 2024. All trauma care community partners are invited to learn more and register to participate virtually here.
